Autumn Chamber Music

5th - 8th September 2024

This course will be aimed at advanced amateur pianists and string players. The focus will be on chamber music, although solo players are also welcome to take part. The course will begin at 5pm on Thursday September 5th, and finishes after lunch on Sunday September 8th, with all meals and snacks provided.

Each participant has a minimum of 45 minutes of tuition per day in masterclass format with Richard Ormrod and Mary Hofman. There is also the opportunity for those bringing violin/piano sonata repertoire to work on it by playing alongside Richard Ormrod, who will deliver coaching.

There will be time and opportunity to practice on either of the 2 pianos, one of which is a Steinway Model L. 

In the afternoon time will be made to explore the surrounding area of Gwydyr Forest, including the famous Swallow Falls and Llyn y Parc. The courageous can go swimming, or undertake other outdoor activities at their leisure.
